Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY: 
  Pay Range based off of experience and qualifications: $18.35-$22.45   Under the supervision of the Director, create, support and track personalized workouts for members.  
 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 
  • Design safe and effective personal training programs for individual/group clients specific to their goals and ability levels. 
  • Instruct clients in the strength training principles, training procedures, and exercise techniques adapting to the design model of YMCA. 
  • Educate clients on the proper and preferred use of all fitness equipment in the wellness center. 
  • Provide individual supervision, reinforcement and support during clients' training sessions. 
  • Promote personal training through personal example and member interaction. 
  • Help maintain a neat, clean and pleasant environment on the wellness floor. 
  • Stay current on fitness concepts and ideas. 

QUALIFICATIONS: 
  • Previous experience (minimum one year in the health and wellness field) preferred 
  • Current CPR, First Aid and AED certifications. 
  • Current Personal Trainer certification. (NASM, AFAA, or ACSM) 
  • Excellent human relations and communications skills.
