Key accountabilities:

  • Understanding and utilizing established standard operating procedures to perform surface finishing of fixed pitch, propellers and controllable pitch propeller blades using a variety of grinding equipment and minor cosmetic weld repairs
  • Performing various finishing functions to include: recording propeller geometry, measuring and recording thickness dimensions and stencil hub data
  • Performing finishing operations on new and overhauled hub bodies, hub fairwater covers, and hub cones
  • Performing LPI (Liquid Penetrant Inspection)
  • Balancing controllable propeller blades, fixed pitch propellers, water jet impellers, hub bodies, and hub assemblies
  • Ability to lift various items weighing up to approximately 50 pounds

Qualifications:

 Basic:

  • Some High School Diploma
  • 5 years machining experience in surface finishing of large castings 
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints
  • Ability to properly utilize precision measuring equipment
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds
  • In order to be considered for this opportunity, you must be eligible to obtain and maintain a DOD Confidential Security clearance, which requires USA Citizenship. Clearance is required prior to start

 Preferred:

  • Ability to operate cranes, fork lifts, and material handling equipment
  • Experience in performing Liquid Penetrant Inspection
