Job Description

The Sales Development Program (EDGE) is for college graduates and early career professionals. The program is designed to help you build the skills that you need to be successful in your role. This program offers a variety of exciting career paths that will provide an opportunity to flourish in an inclusive environment as you learn the ins and outs of the Banking industry and build leadership and technical skills.     This role is based at our Toms River, NJ headquarters office, and the program is set to begin in June 2026.
  ABOUT YOUR ROLE: The Commercial Lending Sales Development rotational program provides exposure across the sales organization and contributes to developing versatile leaders through hands-on experience in key operational and revenue functions. This program provides a strong entry point into the commercial banking industry and exposure to financial services sales skills and insights into strategies and skills to drive value added revenue. The role is an opportunity to learn about all aspects of the customer sales life cycle before identifying an area in which you may be interested in developing your career. Upon successful completion of the Sales Development Program, participants will be placed in a permanent full-time role within the sales organization. Commercial lending entails lending to companies ("C&I" -- Commercial and Industrial lending and/or Commercial Real Estate Lending ("CRE").   WHAT YOU WILL DO: 1. Participate in professional development activities to develop and maintain strong technical, business analysis, and revenue generation skills. 2. Prepare reports and presentations for senior management. 3. Develop a working knowledge of key areas in sales including insights and analytics, prospecting, customer development, and sales planning. 4. Form a strong network of supporters, along with exposure and networking opportunities with senior management. 5. Successfully complete challenging and varied work assignments and projects. 6. Gain practical experience in core operations, including service delivery, quality control, and team management. 7. Develop skills in client relationship management, commercial lending, contract fulfillment, credit underwriting and customer satisfaction. 8. Bachelor's degree preferably in Business Administration, Finance, Marketing or Economics, or related field required.
Demonstrated work experience in an office environment; preferably in banking/financial services.
Experience with Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel & Teams) required.
