WHAT A TYPICAL DAY LOOKS LIKE

  • Work with client engagement teams and provide input on employee benefit communication projects such as brochures, newsletters, posters, and postcards.
  • Proofread and edit a wide variety of client deliverables, providing drafts that are grammatically and structurally correct.
  • Draft, review, and edit communication materials with simple and clear copy, for both print and online.
  • Work with graphic designers to review content in design layout, provide edits and finalize.
  • Utilize Microsoft Word and PowerPoint and Adobe Professional
  • Effectively prioritize and manage individual assigned tasks independently, delivering work on time and within budget.

The Mercer Content Specialist role is a great way to start your career in corporate communication.  As Content Specialist you will assist Communication Consultants in creating the content that will engage and motivate employees, ensuring change is embraced and that business drivers for the change are understood. To be successful in the role, you must love to write. 

Draft, review, edit and proofread human resources communication materials in plain language for targeted audiences utilizing MS Word, PowerPoint and, as appropriate, HTML and software for online media.

Assist consultants with coordinating the production of mass client materials by clearly communicating individual and team workload availability; providing feedback on accurate timelines and updates as projects progress; communicating with vendors on production coordination.

Assist consultants in developing communication strategies and work plans by editing, proofreading, and composing initial draft documents; and applying and implementing applicable knowledge obtained through experience and research; and participate in discussions with colleagues on ideas to implement and design communication strategies.

Coordinate appropriate reviews of human resources communication materials (compliance, technical, editorial, client, vendor, etc.) and, to ensure accuracy and effectiveness of materials, follow up with consultants or vendors to determine causes and discuss possible solutions to issues raised during the review process.

Effectively prioritize and manage individual assigned tasks independently, delivering work on time and within budget.

The applicable base salary range for this role is $59,000 to $118,000.

The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.We are excited to offer a competitive total rewards package which includes health and welfare benefits, tuition assistance, 401K savings and other retirement programs as well as employee assistance programs.
