Job Description

POSITION TITLE:  Receptionist - Bilingual in Spanish 

SALARY RANGE $2,034.47 - $2,948.54 Bi-weekly; $52,896.22 - $76,662.04 Annual        

New hires with no prior Regional Center work experience will start at the very beginning of the salary scale.

The Regional Center of the East Bay (RCEB) is one of 21 Regional Centers that are community-based, private non-profit corporations under contract with the California Department of Developmental Services. RCEB provides intake, assessment, diagnosis, and coordinates community-based services for over 25,000 children and adults with developmental disabilities in Alameda and Contra Costa counties. 

RCEB envisions a future where persons with developmental disabilities are truly a part of the community. Persons with developmental disabilities receive supports and services they need to succeed. The supports and services change as the need changes.

In our dream, children with developmental disabilities live with families in typical communities. Many choose to attend their neighborhood schools and play with neighborhood friends. Adults with developmental disabilities live in the residence of their choice – with family members, with friends, or with their spouse / significant other. They engage in activities of their choice – work, volunteering, education, training, or leisure. They have meaningful relationships with friends and coworkers and are seen as valuable, contributing members of their communities.

SPECIFIC DUTIES:

  1. Answer all incoming calls and connect to appropriate staff member or respective secretary. If there is no answer, take a message and notify staff member when available.
  2. Receive clients and visitors and notify appropriate staff member.
  3. Maintain office security by following safety procedures and controlling visitor sign in sheets and provide visitor labels.
  4. Schedule/update Outlook calendars for conference and assessment rooms.
  5. Receive packages when clerk not available.
  6. Check console in morning for calls received after hours, and notify appropriate staff members.
  7. Assist with mass mailings and researching mailings to route to appropriate destination.
  8. File electronically in client charts.
  9. Perform other clerical duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 

  1. Experience with multi-line console.
  2. One year experience as receptionist.
  3. Professional attitude and customer service oriented.
  4. Ability to safeguard consumer privileged and confidential information a must.
  5. Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, Outlook and Word).
  6. Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
  7. Bilingual in English and Spanish (read, write, and speak).
  8. Demonstrate cultural awareness and sensitivity and an ability to work effectively with culturally diverse populations.
