Job Description

The Patient Services Representative II acts as the primary point of contact, managing advanced patient scheduling, insurance verification, and co-payment collection. The PSR II  will rotate on occasion or as necessary, to other DRCHC sites (Bossier, Gilliam, Haynesville, Minden, and Shreveport). 

Work Experience Requirements: 

  • Greet patients, verify demographic information, and secure insurance authorization for services.
  • Schedule appointments and follow-up visits, ensuring accurate patient calendars and maximizing clinic efficiency.
  • Collect deductibles, co-payments, and deposits and advise patients on billing or insurance guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate, confidential patient records and distribute them to clinical staff.
  • Address patient's inquiries, communicate waiting times and resolve issues to ensure high patient satisfaction.
  • Assist all patients' referrals, transportation, insurance verification, etc.
  • Ensures all confidential personal health information and financial information is entered into a computerized system with a rate of accuracy.
  • Complies with all federal and local laws in ensuring patient privacy and DRCHC policies and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as described.

Education/Experience Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • At least one year of patient/customer services experience.
  • At least one year of health experience.
  • Proficiency in EMR software and Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in the NextGen system that consists of EDR application.
  • Ability to multitask and manage high-pressure situations.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance protocols.
