Veterinary Assistant at Crossroads Animal Care Center

Pay:Ā Ā $19–$24/hour (based on experience)

Crossroads Animal Care Center is a full-service small animal hospital providing comprehensive medical, surgical, dental, and urgent care services to the pets of Northern Virginia. Our team is deeply committed to delivering high-quality, compassionate veterinary medicine while creating a supportive and engaging workplace where team members can grow and succeed.

We are a hybrid General Practice/Urgent Care hospital dedicated to supporting our community through exceptional pet care, and we’re looking for a Veterinary Assistant who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

What You’ll Bring

  • Veterinary Assistant experience in a clinical setting preferred
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced hybrid GP/Urgent Care environment
  • Ability to work some evenings and rotating Saturday shifts (8 AM–2 PM)
  • A positive attitude and eagerness to learn and grow
  • Strong teamwork skills and willingness to jump in where needed
  • Confidence handling and restraining dogs and cats safely and compassionately
  • Strong communication skills with both clients and team members
  • Dependability, initiative, and a sense of humor are a huge plus

A Day in This Role

  • Assist with patient care, diagnostics, treatments, and procedures
  • Support surgical and dental workflows including prep, cleanup, instrument handling, and anesthesia monitoring
  • Help maintain smooth patient flow throughout the hospital
  • Provide compassionate, high-quality client communication and education
  • Maintain cleanliness, safety, and organization throughout the facility
  • Support doctors and technicians in delivering efficient, high-quality care
  • Participate in ongoing mentorship, training, and skill development opportunities
