Job Description

JOB TITLE: Plant Custodian
DEPARTMENT: Plant Operations

FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt (Hourly)

LOCATION: LEE Manufacturing Facilities (Plant 1, 3 or 5)

REPORTS TO: Plant Manager

SCHEDULE: Monday – Thursday 6 am – 4 pm & *Fridays 6 am to 11 am

Overtime may be required beyond the posted work schedule and may vary on a weekly basis. We are continuing to grow and are currently hiring for multiple full-time positions offering consistent 40–45 hour workweeks, no Saturday schedules, and a comprehensive benefits package. SUMMARY

Responsible for maintaining cleanliness and housekeeping standards throughout the manufacturing facility to support safe and efficient plant operations.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform general daily cleaning duties throughout the manufacturing plant.
  • Maintain and clean all department floor areas in accordance with established safety and housekeeping standards.
  • Remove and dispose of trash and production waste throughout the day
  • Gather and empty trash from workstations, production lines, and common plant areas.
  • Break down cardboard and dispose of materials in designated recycling or waste areas.
  • Clean and maintain assigned custodial equipment and cleaning tools. 
  • Assist with special cleaning projects and plant housekeeping initiatives as needed.
  • Follow all safety policies, procedures, and required PPE guidelines at all times.
  • Perform other duties as assigned. 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Knowledge of sanitation practices, safety procedures and proper chemical use. 
  • Experience with custodial, utility, or basic maintenance work preferred.
  • Ability to operate and maintain cleaning equipment and tools. 
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervisor.
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions
  • Basic mechanical or maintenance skills are helpful. 
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and team members. 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to work full time.
  • Must comply with all required PPE requirements (e.g., safety shoes, hearing protection, safety glasses, etc.).
  • Basic problem-solving skills. 
  • Basic computer skills preferred.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and handle materials up to 50 lbs. 
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform physical work for extended periods (up to 10 hours per shift).
