Power Generation Field Service Technician

$20-$40 Per Hour

Curtis Power Solutions, a subsidiary of Indel Power Group, has an opening for an experienced Power Generation Field Service Technician at our location in Sterling, Virginia. This individual can be looking to start their career or have previous experience as a technician. Indel Power Group is a distributor/dealer for major brands such as mtu, Daimler/Mercedes, Perkins, PSI Engines, Detroit Diesel, Kohler, Cummins, Caterpillar, and Volvo Penta. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform skilled tasks in the diagnosis of malfunctions, repairs, preventative maintenance, adjustments, and overhauls
  • Commitment to safety and cleanliness
  • Maintain open communication with management team regarding job status, updates, and changes
  • Use low and high voltage load banks for testing and repair of generator sets
  • Determine corrective action through inspection of failed parts
  • Order replacement parts and services in efficient and effective manner  
  • Perform electrical and mechanical repairs to the engine, generator, or components
  • Perform startup and commissioning on large genset units with automatic transfer switches
  • This position requires occasional driving

Physical Demands

Technician roles are physically demanding and require prolonged periods of standing and/or walking. Occasional heavy lifting and pushing/pulling objects weighing up tpo 50 pounds (or more) may be required. While performing the duties of this job, the Technician will frequently use hands to manipulate and grasp objects; reach with hands and arms; climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, bend, stretch, or twist to perform repairs and inspections. Good vision to inspect repair work and effective communication are essential. Must be able to work safely in a noisy area with many odors present. A technician may work in areas with temperature and/or humidity extremes.
