Job Description

We, at Leggett & Platt Inc., are searching for a Production Associates within our Manufacturing team to help support our business. The Production Associate will set up and control operation of single or multiple production machines for the process of manufacturing products

So, what will you be doing as a Production Associate?

  • The job is a standing/sitting job requiring the operation of an extruder machine. The machine processes plastic to form a solid profile, which is used in the assembly of automotive, furniture, and bedding components.

  • Upon completion of a roll or container the roll or container is closed, Production Associatewill need to placed it on a shipping container.
  • The Production Associate is responsible for producing quality product and must be able to identify such. If necessary, the operator must be able to notify appropriate person to fix machine.
  • Will be operating also our Grids machine
  • Everything, conforming with the environmental policy and procedures and with the requirements of the environmental management system

To be successful in this role, you’ll need:

  • Must have basic math skills. and have some mechanical skills
  • Must be able to use measuring tools and be able to understand and follow simple blueprints.
  • Must be committed to 100% quality, continuous quality improvement, safety and good housekeeping.
  • Must be able to lift 70 lb and/or to move 1,000 lb. of equipment on wheels, if required.
  • Must be able to work in teams on continuous improvement projects, maintain a good attendance record and be willing to learn.
  • Sufficient dexterity and mechanical understanding to operate an automated machine.
  • Ability to understand instruction both verbal and written. This includes the ability with proper training to follow construction blueprints and document ongoing processes.
  • Sufficient aptitude to identify proper product quality.
  • The willingness to be involved in ongoing skills improvement classes and efforts of which are included IATF-16949/ISO-9001:2015, Kaizen, and SMED.
  • Working schedule: Monday to Thursday from 4:45 pm to 3:15 am or 6:45 pm to 5:15 am 
  • Shift differential of $2.00 per hour
