Compensation: $24.80 / hour



Description

REPORTS TO: Civil Supervisor, Courtroom Services
STATUS: Full-time, 35 hours/week, non-exempt, unclassified
JOB LOCATION: Hamilton County Courthouse
HOURS: Monday - Friday; 8:00 am – 4:00 pm
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: No travel required
PAY RATE: $24.80
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: No

JOB OVERVIEW:               
Under supervision, provides exceptional customer service and record keeping for individuals who have business in Hamilton County Municipal Court. Manage the case docket and oversee day-to-day work operations in a Municipal Civil courtroom. Enter and update data into the Case Management System for Municipal Civil. Scan all court documents into the Case Management System.

Essential Duties

30%:      CUSTOMER SERVICE
  • Provide exceptional customer service to the public and attorneys in the courtroom.
  • Process paperwork for service provided.
  • Verify information provided and ensure timely, accurate and consistent service to the customer.
  • Maintain professionalism and confidentiality.  
  • Respond to customer inquiries: determine the nature of requests, retrieve information from the system or hard-copy files, and provide assistance directly or by referring the customer to the appropriate party.
30%:      CLERICAL SERVICES
  • Keeping an accurate record of the actions in court each day
  • Preparing the Judges/Magistrates dockets
  • Review and analyze the information presented in judicial entries, complaints and affidavits. 
  • Work closely with courtroom staff and judges/magistrates to accurately and efficiently process cases during court proceedings. 
  • Filing case file jackets and paperwork 
30%:      DATA ENTRY
  • Enter all information from judicial entries and other court documents into the Case Management System
  • Verifies information provided and ensures accurate completion  
  • Prepares the civil docket for designated courtroom
10%:      SCANNING
  • Scans judicial entries, and all other court documents into the Case Management System

The Hamilton County Clerk of Courts is the official record keeper and agent of Hamilton County’s Justice System. Lead by The Hamilton County Clerk of Courts, Pavan V. Parikh, the Office has nearly 200 employees. The Office’s responsibilities are to: Provide public access to the records of the Court in Hamilton County; Receive, distribute, and preserve official court documents of the Court of Common Pleas, Municipal Court as well as other courts that have appellate jurisdiction at the county level; Execute personnel responsibilities such as arrest, transportation of prisoners, subpoenas, evictions, and courtroom security in Municipal Court; Issue Certificates of Title; Process traffic tickets and passport applications.
