Job Description

Eaton announced, on January 26, 2026, the intent to separate its Mobility Group (including both the Vehicle and eMobility segments) into an independent, publicly traded company.  We expect to complete the separation by the end of the first quarter of 2027.  The compensation and benefits that will initially be offered for this position are based on Eaton's plans, programs and practices.  If you are offered and accept this position and are actively employed by the Mobility Group when the spinoff closes, the new company will provide further details to employees concerning compensation and benefits at that time.

What you’ll do:

Eaton Kings Mountain is looking for a Summer Engineering Intern. This position is based at an integral site for Eaton’s transmission value stream in Kings Mountain, North Carolina. Relocation assistance is not available. 

The expected hourly wage for this role is $25.00 per hour. This position is not eligible for any incentive programs.


What you’ll do: 

Within our team at Kings Mountain, the engineering intern will support the continuous improvement of plant operations. 

•    Conduct time studies within the Auto DDA cell to evaluate labor efficiency, cycle time, and process variation.
•    Modernize and maintain the hour‑by‑hour performance board, validating production rates and supporting real‑time visibility of KPIs.
•    Support cost‑out and continuous improvement initiatives focused on improving product quality while optimizing operational expenses.
•    Assist with day‑to‑day OPEX activities, including data collection, analysis, and documentation to support a high‑performing OPEX team.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

•    Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Industrial, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field. 


Preferred Qualifications:

•    Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel for data analysis and reporting.
•    Basic understanding of Value Stream Mapping and process flow analysis.
•    Exposure to Lean Manufacturing and/or Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
•    Previous internship or hands‑on experience in a manufacturing environment.
