Groups Summer Resident

When you ask us what we do at The Heights, you won’t just get a job description; you’ll hear a story. We are passionate about using our talents for God’s purposes and that’s why we’ve dedicated our lives to a ministry, not just a job title. We have the privilege of waking the world up to Jesus.

As we do this, we strive to champion others above ourselves, equip and encourage people, operate out of our calling, and live spiritually awake. The Heights has a passion to equip people to follow Jesus in every area of their lives, and help others do the same. The Groups & Heights U Summer Resident will step into that story by helping strengthen Life Groups and support the development of Groups Ministries. This role is designed to develop a future ministry leader by giving hands-on experience in both relational ministry and theological equipping. This is not just a summer job—it’s an invitation into ministry formation.

THE QUALIFICATIONS OF THE JOB

Be a 5G Disciple in Your Life

• GRACE: You were saved by grace and now live by grace. (Romans 5:8-9)
• GATHER: Commit to regularly gathering at The Heights Church in the Worship Service and a Life Group. (Hebrews 10:24-25)
• GROW: Become more like Jesus through listening to God through His Word and talking to God in prayer (John 15:4-5)
• GIVE: Go all in, investing the time, talent, and treasure that God has given to you for the increase of your growth and His kingdom. 2 Corinthians 9:6-7)
• GROW: Make 5G disciples who are equipped to make their own 5G disciples (Matthew 28:18-20)

• Be an active, engaged participant at weekend services and in a Life Group.
• Serve at church-wide, all-skate events.

THE RESPONSIBLITIES OF THE JOB

• Contribute to Life Group Content

What are we talking about? Develop content that fuels disciple-making through Life Groups. This includes helping write curriculum, discussion guides, and producing podcast content that supports sermon application and biblical literacy.

The Bottom Line: Never make excuses. Don’t point fingers. Take responsibility and help make spiritual formation come alive throughout the week.

• Learn, Observe, and Engage a Healthy Groups Ministry

What are we talking about? You won’t just do ministry; you’ll learn how it works. This includes exposure to leadership development, group health, and systems that sustain growth.

The Bottom Line: Understand what makes a Groups Ministry healthy, scalable, and spiritually effective.

• Support Heights U Development (Fall Preparation)

What are we talking about? Help prepare Heights U for the fall by building systems that measure growth and strengthen theological formation.

The Bottom Line: Contribute to a framework that ensures people are not just informed—but transformed.
