We are a fully integrated sand supply and services company, offering complete sand, logistics, storage, and management solutions to our customers with our in-basin trans-loading terminals and our smartsystem storage capabilities. We own and operate premium frac sand mines and related processing facilities in Wisconsin and Illinois, which have access to three Class I rail lines, allowing us to deliver products substantially anywhere in the United States and Canada.

We are currently looking for individuals to join our Production team as members of the Night Shift at our Blair facility:

Grounds Crew

This position performs a variety of skilled and semi-skilled tasks as directed by the management team.

The position will work under the supervision of the Production Superintendent; but will require taking direction from other Smart Sand managers. This position is based primarily at our Blair, WI facility.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Performs general labor (e.g. plant clean-up, housekeeping, etc.)
  • Follows direction and complete tasks in a timely manner with close supervision.
  • Tasks include, but are not limited to: cleaning under tail pulleys and high build-up areas and ensuring belts are tracking properly.
  • Assists maintenance team in performing routine maintenance and repairs (e.g. greasing, fueling, lubricating and changing rollers).
  • Replaces or assist other staff as needed, or directed.
  • Works cooperatively to comply with facility-wide environmental and quality management systems.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent experience preferred.
  • MSHA training and experience is a plus.

Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Pre-employment physical must result in medical clearance to wear a respirator.
  • Must be able to read, use simple math, and use basic hand-held measuring tools.
  • Good judgment is required.
  • Must be adaptable and have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be willing to work any assigned shift, overtime, weekends, and holidays.
