Position Overview

The Payments & Deposit Analyst is an entry‑level analytical role supporting the Enterprise Payments team. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with data, learning new systems, and solving problems. Prior payments or banking experience is not required—we will teach the systems, processes, and industry knowledge. What matters most is intellectual curiosity, comfort with data, and a willingness to dive in and learn.

This role offers exposure to senior leadership and cross-functional teams, including digital banking, IT, accounting, and finance, creating strong opportunities for professional growth and career advancement. High performers may grow into broader analytical, strategic, or leadership roles as they gain experience and demonstrate impact.

The analyst supports Treasury Management Sales, Payments Strategy, Deposit Operations, and Client Protection by providing data analysis, reporting, research, and operational support. This role helps equip bankers, advisors, and managers with the information they need to grow deposits and execute the bank’s payments strategy.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Consistently delivers outstanding client service with a friendly, can-do attitude, and willingness to help at all times.
  • Acts as a cultural ambassador to internal and external clients, providing a professional, exceptional, and supportive experience with each interaction.
  • Supports monthly Account Analysis billing by assisting with data entry, reconciliation, and report preparation. Learns to use the bank’s Account Analysis system and gradually develops into a subject‑matter resource.
  • Performs data analysis using tools such as Klarivis, Fiserv Business Analytics, FIS Ethos Analytics, and Microsoft Dynamics reporting (training provided). Summarizes findings to support treasury advisors, product managers, and leadership.
  • Helps maintain dashboards tracking treasury product usage, fee income, deposit trends, and other performance metrics.
  • Assists with Treasury enrollment campaigns by preparing outreach lists, tracking progress, and coordinating follow‑up with advisors and relationship managers.
  • Supports deposit growth initiatives by assisting with research, outreach coordination, and providing data‑driven insights to relationship managers and advisors.
  • Conducts competitive research on treasury and payments products, pricing, and market trends. Compiles findings into clear, structured summaries.
  • Contributes observations and data‑backed input to payments product roadmaps, helping inform strategic decisions on product enhancements and new offerings.
  • Supports the credit card rebate process and assists with ongoing credit card program reporting, including tracking usage, revenue, and key performance indicators.
  • Helps document current operational workflows and identifies opportunities for automation or process improvement.
  • Participates in cross‑functional projects and adapts to shifting priorities based on team needs.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and demonstrated work experience.
    • Relevant fields may include: Finance, Economics, Business, Data Analytics, Information Systems, Statistics, or related areas.
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and communicate insights.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and comfort learning new software tools.
  • Advanced skills with Excel (pivot tables, lookups, formulas, etc).
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and follow through on assignments.
  • Clear, concise written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated curiosity, initiative, and willingness to learn complex concepts.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license; Local travel required less than 10%.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with data tools such as Power BI, Tableau, SQL (coursework or internships count).
  • Experience with CRM systems such as Microsoft Dynamics.
  • Exposure to financial services, banking operations, or payments concepts through coursework, internships, or projects.
  • Experience working with large datasets or producing analytical summaries.
  • Experience leveraging AI to analyze data or streamline workflows.
  • Interest in treasury management, payments, or financial technology.
