Press Brake Operator II

Description

Premier Pump & Power is a family-owned manufacturer of industrial pumps and energy solutions. We specialize in large, custom, portable pump packages, and our products are renowned for their performance, serviceability, and built-in quality. We proudly serve thousands of customers from our global headquarters in Vancouver, Washington and our new manufacturing factory in Houston, Texas.

You will ensure efficient production of bending steel parts to the correct degree and angle for our fabrication and assembly department. You will have experience with manual tooling press brake operation. You will be familiar with the operation of a tooling machine to turn raw steel material into parts using the correct degree of angles and measurements. This is an important process in ensuring we save time and money to allow our fabrication department to source this work in-house.

This position is located in Vancouver, Washington. You will report to the Interim Lead Welder.

Responsibilities

  • Operate Bystronic Xpert 250 ton press brake
  • Bend steel parts ranging from 18-gauge to 1/2-inch steel
  • Change press brake tooling/dies
  • Read blueprints and specification sheets to execute technical requirements
  • Calibrate and program adjustments to meet bend specifications
  • Manually set and operate press brake as required (machine operation is mostly automated)
  • Restock materials and communicate damage or incorrect materials to management
  • Measure final product precisely to ensure uniformity
  • Collaborate with QA to create Assembly documentation, procedures, and work instructions
  • Maintain a safe work environment for self and others when operating equipment and performing job responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance
  • Train other fabrication and/or finish personnel on the bend process

Qualifications

  • 1+ year of press brake operation experience
  • High school diploma / GED, or equivalent additional job experience
  • Understand weld prints and callouts
  • Excel (can maintain complex spreadsheets)

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

Employees must be able to lift and move up to 10 pounds frequently, and occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds. Close vision is required for this job. To ensure safety, employees must be able to recognize and respond to auditory warnings, such as forklift horns and shop alarms. While performing the responsibilities of this job, employees are required to stand, sit, and use their fingers and thumbs. Employees are frequently required to reach with their hands and arms and are occasionally required to kneel or stoop. Employees are required to wear PPE.

While working in the factory, performing inspections, and troubleshooting equipment, employees may be asked to work under varying weather conditions, operate heavy machinery and tolerate moderate noise levels.
