Intern I – General Engineering 

Overview

Tech(x) is seeking a General Engineering Intern to support multidisciplinary research and development initiatives focused on advanced technologies. This internship provides hands-on experience in a collaborative engineering environment supporting research programs.

The selected candidate will work alongside a multidisciplinary team of professionals to assist in the design, analysis, testing, and evaluation of emerging technologies. Candidates should be pursuing a degree in engineering (mechanical, electrical, systems, aerospace, or related field), possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and be able to work effectively in a team setting. U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance may be required.

Responsibilities

• Support engineering and research teams in the design, testing, and evaluation of technical solutions
• Assist with software development tasks, including writing code and developing technical solutions
• Assist in collecting, analyzing, and documenting technical data
• Support laboratory testing, experiments, and prototype development
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across engineering and research domains
• All other duties assigned 

Qualifications

• Proficiency in at least one programming language, such as:
  • Python
  • JavaScript
  • HTML
  • C++
  • C#
  • SQL
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
• Excellent written communication and technical documentation skills
• Ability to work both independently and within a collaborative team environment
• Excellent writing and grammar skills

Physical Requirements

• Able to lift up to 20 lbs.
• Able to bend, stretch, and twist
• Able to stand or sit for long periods of time

Clearance:

• DoD secret level or the ability to obtain one. 

Education & Experience:

• A bachelor's degree (completed or in progress)
• Previous experience as an intern or school projects with a General Engineering focus. 

Location:

• Aberdeen Proving Grounds, Maryland. 
• Monday-Friday 8:00 to 5:00 EST.
