Summary
Improve manufacturing methods and processes that support production using best mfg. practices (Lean methodologies), Kaizen, 5’s, Value Stream Mapping, Poka yoke or any other techniques applying acquiring knowledge from college in real operation life.

Essential Functions 
• Assisting Manufacturing Engineers proving engineering support by assisting in the troubleshooting of problems, monitoring, and testing new methods and procedures to ensure system efficiencies, reducing cycle times and improve Quality.
• Improve operation’s area in terms of 5’s.
• Recommend fixture / tooling / Poka yoke to improve Quality in Lancer’s products.
• Assist ME or ME tech in the manufacture of assembly lines, work cells, manufacturing areas, etc.
• Design and create mfg. work cells in the op’s manufacturing floor to achieve demand.
• Collect and collate data as needed by Manufacturing Engineer or VSM (Time study, KPI’s, etc.).
• Support to create documents procedures for the operation of new or existing equipment by interfacing with line operators, machine operators and material handlers, etc.
• Other responsibilities as needed and assigned


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Eager to learn and apply theoretical knowledge in real operation's world.
• Knowledge concerning Lean Manufacturing, modern fabrication and assembly techniques and machine shop practices.
• Capable of efficiently integrating existing methods with new innovations to economically solve production problems in a timely manner.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
• Computer skills required: Proficiency with MS Word, MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint, and familiarity with manufacturing resource-planning software required, ACAD literacy is a plus.


Education and Experience 
• H.S. Diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Some college preferred.
• Bilingual preferred but not required.
