Qualifications
You have an Associate's degree in respiratory therapy and hold a current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) license in North Carolina. You are also required to have Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification, and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certifications.

How you’ll contribute
A Respiratory Therapist who excels in this role:
Measures lung capacity and analyzes blood samples using a blood gas analyzer;, EKGs, and tobacco-cessation education as ordered.
Delivers ordered respiratory therapies; monitors, records, and communicates patient condition and response to treatment.
Responds to codes and emergent calls; assesses patient condition and provides appropriate interventions.
Evaluates and contributes to respiratory care policies and procedures based on outcomes, research, and best practices.
Educates patients and families on illness, treatments, device use, and community resources.
Monitors, receives, stocks, and distributes respiratory supplies and medical gas cylinders; maintains storage areas and equipment readiness.
Disassembles, cleans, sterilizes, performs preventive maintenance, and calibrates respiratory equipment.
Performs all responsibilities as needed to fulfill required service levels.
Participates in performance improvement and required education.
Performs other duties as assigned.

License: Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) license in state of North Carolina.
Certifications: BCLS required; ACLS, PALS, and NRP required.
