JOB SUMMARY:
The RN / GN must have the skill and knowledge to provide population specific care. He/She must have the ability to assess, evaluate, identify, and interpret the requirement and needs of the patients and perform based on those findings.
The RN / GN reports directly to Director.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education
RN Graduate of accredited School of Nursing.
Licensure/Certification
Must have valid, current license by the Missouri State Board of Nursing
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification/Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) upon hire.
ACLS within year
PALS certification within year
Work Experience
Successful completion of hospital orientation
RESPONSIBILITIES/JOB DUTIES:
Provides guidance to provide appropriate patient care to all ages and oversee LPN’s and CNA’s.
Documentation of care in the EMR, that is accurate and detailed of the patient’s care and conditions.
Monitor for changes in medical condition by assessments and notify physician if appropriate.
Assist with procedures by physician’s as needed. Perform nursing skills (IV starting, NG placements, dressing changes, wound care, catheter placement, etc.). Knowledge of conscious sedation procedure and protocol.
Scan and administer medications to patients and monitor for side effects. Ensures the satisfactory completion of clinical procedures, documentation, educational and procedural teaching of the patient
Provides leadership for the unit by organizing and prioritizing care by communicating and collaborating with others and implementing multidisciplinary actions to provide a continuity of care.

Ensures self-compliance with professional, regulatory and government standards of care.
Knowledge of conscious sedation procedure and protocol.
