Our NORAD Operations Group

Selected by the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center’s Strategic Warning and Surveillance Systems Division for Operations, Maintenance, and Sustainment (OM&S) of critical mission systems for the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) Cheyenne Mountain Complex (NCMC), we support the Integrated Tactical Warning/Attack Assessment (ITW/AA) and Space Support Contract II (NISSC II).

Since 2020, through the (ITW/AA) and Space Support Contract II (NISSC II), has provided:

  • Operations, maintenance, and Sustainment of current and legacy systems for the surveillance and cataloging of manmade objects in space.
  • Mitigation of orbital conflicts.
  • Threat warnings and control from airborne, land-based, and space-based systems for threat activities.
  • Operations and maintenance of classified communications.
  • Software development and integration.

NISSC II supports the classified communications and processing for Command and Control (C2) capability and legacy space C2 systems located at:

  • Cheyenne Mountain Space Force Station (CMSFS), Colorado
  • Peterson Space Force Base (PSFB), Colorado
  • Offutt Air Force Base, Nebraska
  • Vandenberg Space Force Base, California
  • Numerous sensor and forward operator sites around the world

Description of Duties:

The Business Operations Intern supports North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) on the Integrated Tactical Warning/Attack Assessment (ITW/AA) and Space Support Contract II (NISSC II). Located onsite in Colorado Springs, the Business Operations Intern provides assistance of substantial variety and complexity. Serves as an organizational authority, in areas of administrative responsibility. Develops, recommends, and implements timely completion of functions to satisfy the company's requirements, which may include scheduling of material, man-hours, or information services. Close liaison is established and maintained with internal organizations, customers, and external firms or agencies. Will provide administrative support to the General Manager's Office, Chief Engineer, Human Resources, Finance Team and other Functional areas within the NISSC II Program.

This position is expected to pay $45,000-$50,000 annually; depending on experience, education, and any certifications that are directly related to the position.

This position will be filled and work onsite at Colorado Springs, CO.

Basic Requirements:

  • Ability to obtain an active DoD Secret clearance.
  • Work with and maintain confidential, proprietary, and sensitive information.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
  • Greet customers, candidates and vendors while following strict security processes.
  • Take ownership of requests; tailor solutions to the situation; be timely in follow-up; resourceful in information gathering.
  • Must be well-organized, to include high attention to detail, with the ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Must be able to interface with individuals at all levels of the organization both verbally and in writing.
  • Must have a HS Diploma (or GED) and a minimum of 2 years of direct experience and 3 years of general work history.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Compensation Details:

$21.63 to $24.04
