Job Description

This position is focused primarily on the use of microbial fermentation as it relates to novel protein production. Repligen manufactures and sells both broad range and customer specific affinity chromatography resins. This position will support ligand development activities allowing the co-op to gain hands-on experience in techniques such as molecular biology, microbial cell culture, operation of fed-batch fermentation reactors, and protein quality assessment. The co-op will learn and perform assays including SDS-PAGE, metabolite analysis, UV-Vis spectroscopy, High Performance Liquid Chromatography, and mass spectrometry. The co-op is also expected to participate in lab management activities, maintain a detailed laboratory notebook, prepare laboratory reports, and orally present research activities to a group of scientists.

  • Support ligand development activities related to novel protein production using microbial fermentation

  • Perform molecular biology and microbial cell culture techniques

  • Operate fed‑batch fermentation reactors for protein expression

  • Conduct protein quality assessment using standard analytical methods

  • Perform laboratory assays including SDS‑PAGE, metabolite analysis, UV‑Vis spectroscopy, HPLC, and mass spectrometry

  • Assist with chromatography‑related research supporting affinity resin development

  • Maintain accurate and detailed laboratory notebooks in accordance with best practices

  • Participate in laboratory management and general bench support activities

  • Prepare written laboratory reports summarizing experimental results

  • Present research findings orally to a group of scientists

The estimated base salary range for this role, based in the United States of America is $24/Hr. $28/Hr.. Compensation decisions are dependent on several factors including, but not limited to an individual's qualifications, location, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Additionally, employees are eligible to participate in one of our variable cash programs (bonus or commission) and eligible roles may receive equity as part of the compensation package.
