Role Purpose

The Emerging Innovations Group (EIG) connects Corning’s extraordinary materials and process capabilities to new market opportunities, while building new growth businesses from innovations in glass, ceramics, and other materials. This role offers a hands-on opportunity to work in a manufacturing environment focused on advanced glass and window technologies. The co-op will partner with operations, engineering, and quality teams to support production, improve processes, and help drive operational performance. This co-op role provides exposure to manufacturing operations within an architectural glass environment, with opportunities to learn about glass handling, assembly, quality systems, material flow, and process improvement in a production setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work on real-world manufacturing projects that directly support production goals
  • Gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Support continuous improvement activities focused on safety, quality, delivery, and cost
  • Collaborate with operators, technicians, engineers, and supervisors across functions
  • Help analyze production data and translate findings into actionable improvements
  • Contribute to process documentation, problem-solving, and operational support activities

Experiences/Education - Required

  • Currently enrolled in a BS degree program in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Engineering Technology, Operations, or a related technical field
  • Strong interest in manufacturing, operations, process improvement, or industrial engineering
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment with operators, engineers, technicians, and supervisors
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to collect and interpret data and communicate observations clearly
  • Available to work full-time, onsite for a minimum of 10–12 consecutive weeks
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment and comply with required PPE and safety practices

​The range for this position is $1,635.00 - $3,185.00 biweekly.  Starting pay for the successful applicant is prescribed based on geographic location, nature of position, and year in school.
