Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond to all relevant incidents to gather and record accurate information.
  • Conduct a field investigation, record the location and description of evidence and its preservation. Record all facts and information to identify the type of incident.
  • Take photographs of an incident relevant to the event that clearly illustrates what occurred at the time of the incident.
  • Include adequate information in each photograph, so the location and size of all aspects of the incidents/ accident are apparent. Include a point of reference in the photograph to allow size comparisons.
  • Include signage of nearby buildings of property landmarks to indicate the location of the incident.
  • Complete clear, concise, and chronological reports.
  • Complete all reports within 24 hours by recording observations, information, occurrences, and surveillance activities, interviewing witnesses, and obtaining witness/victim/employee statements.

Role and Responsibilities: (Includes but is not limited to the following)

  • Ability to respond to all incidents, including emergencies (i.e., CPR, first aid, fire and other medical emergencies), undesirable conduct, and violations on property, policy, or civil law as warranted for the safety/security of team members, guests, and property safety/security.
  • Ability to provide instructions or guidance for team members and guest safety.
  • Ability to stand or move continuously for up to 3 hours to observe and identify potential security/ safety risks, suspicious persons/ activity, or undesirable conditions or hazards.
  • Ability to gather and record facts of what occurred during an incident. Create reports for documentation of facts that can be used to examine the past, keep other officers informed, continue investigations and possible documentation for court cases.
  • Ability to take clear photographs relevant to the event illustrating what occurred.
  • Ability to secure a scene to make the area safe and to assist in de-escalation.
  • Ability to preserve evidence at the scene.
  • Ability to investigate safety/security matters on behalf of team members and guests.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to conduct interviews to obtain facts regarding an incident.
  • Able to distinguish facts vs. opinions.
  • Ability to understand common violations of local laws and ordinances to identify the type of incident.
  • Ability to display time management skills and meet all deadlines implemented.
  • Ability to adapt and work extended hours to complete reports.
  • Maintain excellent communication with team members and guests while assuring a positive and professional work environment; Responsible for creating, practicing, supporting, and promoting Westgate's service excellence standards culture at all times; Practice teamwork, support all team members and treat each with the same respect we treat guests to create an energized, positive and productive work environment.
  • Maintain excellent communication with and assist local, state, and federal governmental agencies as directed by Management.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of classified/ sensitive information.
  • Understands and is well-versed in the resort, hotel features, and services, including all outlets, hours of operation, activities, and events available to patrons.
  • Ability to clearly communicate via two-way radios and telephones to the Dispatcher or Manager for directions/ instructions and assistance as well as fellow officers.
  • Ability to remain calm and alert, especially during emergencies and heavy property activity, serving as a role model for other team members.
  • Attend and participate in training and meetings as directed by Management.
  • Maintain a valid driver's license and have the ability to drive a company vehicle safely. Other duties as assigned by Management.

Additional Information

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Any combination of education, training, or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Preferred experience as Security/Report Writer in a hotel/casino/resort setting.

Education Requirements

  • Ability to obtain/renew all government-required licenses or certifications, such as; Nevada Gaming Control Board Registration, Alcohol Awareness Card, Valid Driver's License, CPR, AED, and Basic First Aid certification.
  • A High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED) from an accredited institution.
  • Any combination of education, training, or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
