Position Summary:

Universal Banker I is an entry level position focusing on customer service, processing transactions, and assisting customers with their retail banking needs.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1.  Provides excellent customer service by processing customer transactions, answers customer inquiries in person, via telephone, or email.
2. Operates drive thru window; maintains acceptable outages; maintains appropriate cash limits; follows policies and procedures to ensure compliance with branch audits.
3. Cross promotes bank products and services by using insights gained about the customer’s needs; follows up on referral opportunities.
4. Assists in performing back-office duties which included completing branch reports, balancing the ATMs, processing night/mail deposits, answering phone calls, filing, and maintains a clean workstation.
5. Opens and closes the branch in a secure manner according to bank procedures.
6. Opens and closes deposit accounts and services with accuracy and in accordance with bank policies and applicable regulations.
7. Processes payoffs and payments for all loan products.
8. Performs all required security procedures for opening customer accounts.
9. Represents the bank in a professional manner.
10. Attends community activities in order to increase brand awareness.
11. Assists the front line tellers with various duties and acts as a backup for Universal Banker II as needed.
12. As needed, escalates customer and service issues to Universal Banker II and III.
13. May float to other bank branches as needed.
14. Complies with all applicable banking laws and regulations, including, but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act, USA Patriot Act, and related anti-money laundering statutes, and federal consumer protection legislation and regulations.
15. Other Duties as assigned.

Requirements

Qualifications and Skills:

1. Customer Service experience required.
2. Cash handling experience required.
3. HS or equivalent experience required. 
4. Drivers License Required.

Physical Environment:

• This position is performed in an office setting, five days a week including some Saturdays. Hours during the week may be from 7:45 am to 5:45 pm and 8:45 am to 12:15 Saturdays.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to lift, walk, stand, sit, bend, reach with hands and arms, climb, push/pull, use hands, and see, hear and speak.
• The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
