Job Description

This is an opportunity to gain hands-on experience supporting Business Development (BD) within the Airports, Borders and Security (ABS) Business Area at Leidos, a Fortune 500 company. In this fast-paced environment, you will contribute to a range of BD activities including pipeline development, proposal and capture support, and execution of strategic growth initiatives.

The ABS team is seeking an intern interested in pursuing a career in business development, strategy, or government contracting. This role provides exposure to the BD lifecycle and an opportunity to collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders across the organization.

This position requires strong adaptability, organization, and communication skills, along with a proactive approach to problem-solving. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a dynamic environment, managing competing priorities, and supporting multiple simultaneous efforts.

You will work at our Global Headquarters in Reston, Virginia, with opportunities to engage in internal training and professional development. The intern reports to the Business Operations Manager and supports broader ABS growth initiatives.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Support pipeline tracking, research, and data organization
  • Assist with proposal and capture artifacts, including use of AI tools
  • Conduct market and customer research
  • Prepare briefings, summaries, and documentation
  • Provide general BD support

Basic Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in business or related field
  • In good academic standing (GPA 3.0 or higher)
  • Interest in business development or federal markets
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (especially Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Self-starter able to work independently and in teams
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to learn new software applications quickly
  • Familiarity with AI tools for research or writing
  • Experience with research, analysis, or strategic initiatives
  • Strong problem-solving skills

Pay Range:

Pay Range $41,600.00 - $75,200.00
