Summary

Assist in loading and unloading trucks and handling merchandise in a safe and organized manner. Operates non-driving equipment such as a Big Joe and material handling carts.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Unloads or loads trucks at dock.

• Helps to load trucks on pick-up routes.

• Sorts merchandise into containers for processing and distribution.

• May operate a Big Joe as required.

• Maintains a clean and safe working area.

• Model excellent customer service both internally and externally.

• Effectively utilize email and telephone, if applicable, to ensure communications are read and responded to in an appropriate timeframe.

• Other duties may be assigned.

• Comply with all Agency policies, procedures and safety standards throughout work areas and maintain same to meet CARF, HIPAA, Department of Labor and other regulatory standards.

Supervisory Responsibilities

• None.

Education Requirements

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred but not required..

Experience Requirements

Experience operating a pallet jack, two-wheel dollies and four-wheel carts..

Big Joe experience preferred but not required..

Qualifications

Driver’s license not required. Must have reliable transportation.

Must be able to pass a background check and random drug screens, that include marijuana in all forms.

Skills & Abilities

• Load/unload various merchandise including clothing, household goods, furniture and appliances.

• Operate pallet jacks, two-wheel dollies and Big Joe (if needed).

• Sort and pack merchandise for safe storage or transport.

• Basic knowledge of dock operations and equipment.
