Job Description

For this U.S. based position, the expected compensation range is $22.50 - $35.50 per hour. In addition, this position is eligible for overtime pay and recognition programs. 

The compensation rate for this position is for candidates located within the United States. Individual pay is determined by several factors including knowledge, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

We are seeking a highly motivated Finance Intern to support our ongoing Finance Transformation initiatives for Summer 2026. This role is ideal for a candidate who is curious, analytical, and eager to contribute to process improvements within a fast‑paced finance environment. The intern will work closely with the Finance team — including regular exposure to the CFO — to identify inefficiencies, evaluate opportunities for optimization, and support the implementation of transformative solutions.

What will you do?

Finance Transformation & Process Improvement

  • Assist in evaluating existing financial processes, workflows, and systems to identify inefficiencies and improvement opportunities.
  • Conduct data analysis to understand trends, root causes, and performance gaps.
  • Support the design, documentation, and rollout of improved processes, tools, and dashboards.
  • Benchmark best practices and assist in developing recommendations to enhance operational efficiency and financial accuracy.

Cross‑Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Finance teams (FP&A, Accounting, Costing, Plant Finance, etc.) to gather insights, understand pain points, and build improvement proposals.
  • Coordinate with other business functions as needed to collect data or validate proposed improvements.

Executive Support and Feasibility Studies

  • Work directly with the CFO to support strategic finance transformation initiatives.
  • Conduct feasibility studies, cost–benefit analysis, and scenario modeling for proposed changes or projects.
  • Prepare presentations, executive summaries, and analysis to support leadership decision‑making.

Reporting & Analytics

  • Assist in creating visual reports, performance trackers, and dashboards for monitoring transformation progress.
  • Help maintain documentation of process changes, standard operating procedures, and project plans.

What qualifications will make you successful for this role?

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Data Analytics, or a related discipline.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to present findings effectively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with Power BI or similar analytical tools is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Interest in process improvement, digital transformation, and modern finance tools.
  • Exposure to Lean, Six Sigma, or process‑optimization concepts.
  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Acumaticaor similar).
  • Prior internship or project experience in finance or data analytics.
  • Must be able to work onsite in the Buffalo, NY area
