Job Overview

As a Surgical Technologist, you will be responsible for providing support to ensure efficient operation of our outpatient center. You will support doctors and patients through a variety of tasks related to patient care management, organization, and communication. The target is to complete all activities accurately, with high quality, and in a timely manner.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepares patients and procedure rooms for radiology procedures
  • Reviews patient orders to determine necessary materials and sets up/cleans procedure rooms
  • Assists with patient prep, transfers, and positioning
  • Inputs patient data into the C-Arm and assists physicians during interventional procedures, maintaining sterile technique
  • Complies with HIPAA, draws up and labels IV medications, and processes/archives x-ray images
  • Manages equipment maintenance, supply inventory, and hazardous waste disposal
  • May serve as Radiation Safety Officer and assist with accreditation surveys
  • Ensures effective communication with physicians
  • Assists with patient billing, verifying procedure charges, CPT, and ICD9 codes

Requirements

Required License/Experience/Skills

  • Proven working experience as a surgical technologist
  • Proficient in maintaining a sterile field
  • Experienced in scrubbing in for surgical procedures
  • Knowledge of HIPAA and other healthcare regulations
  • Working knowledge of interventional equipment
  • High school diploma 
  • Valid BLS Certification 
  • Surgical technologist experience: 1 year 

Preferred License/Experience/Skills

  • ARRT / CST Certification
