Job Description

Are you passionate about patient care and ready to make a difference in the lives of those battling cancer? Ironwood Cancer & Research Centers is looking for a dedicated, compassionate, and detail-oriented Medical Assistant (Flex) to join our oncology team in our North Scottsdale office!

 Ironwood Cancer & Research Centers: 

  • Beautiful state-of-the-art integrated Cancer and Women's Centers
  • Location: Phoenix, Arizona – Travel Required
  • Full-Time | Day Shift | Competitive Pay + Benefits

What You’ll Do:

  • Travel between offices – reliable transportation required
  • Rotate across multiple clinics, physicians and/or departments
  • Prepare and sanitize exam rooms before and between patients
  • Room patients and record vital signs and assessments
  • Manage patient charts and electronic medical records (EMR)
  • Handle phone calls, referrals, and patient result notifications
  • Set up orders for transfusions, hospital admissions, phlebotomy, and more
  • Monitor prescription folders and assist with drug replacement programs
  • Coordinate special testing and physician requests
  • Start and end times may vary based on need of scheduled office
  • Extensive administration support functions

 What We’re Looking For:

  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or equivalent)- **Only candidates who currently hold a valid Medical Assistant certification or the ability to obtain w/in 90 days will be considered***
  • 1-2 years of MA experience in a fast-paced setting
  • Ability to adapt to different teams, workflows and needs of the clinic
  • Strong communication, organizational and customer service skills
  • Compassionate, team-oriented, and adaptable personality
  • EMR experience and computer proficiency
  • Self-starter, takes initiative, positive, professional attitude with a team-first mindset and a passion for oncology care
