Job Description

Registration Specialist

Location: East Medical Group – Riley
Schedule:

  • Training: Monday–Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm
  • Regular Work Schedule: 8:00am to 5:00pm

Role Overview

Facilitates patient flow from point of entry to destination in a timely, accurate, and professional manner. Obtains and documents appropriate demographic, insurance, and financial information to ensure maximum reimbursement and positive clinical outcomes.

Responsibilities include scheduling appointments, interviewing patients for required medical information, explaining departmental and hospital policies, validating and entering charges, collecting payments, and responding to incoming calls while appropriately directing patients and visitors.

  • 3 Months: Basic understanding of processes

  • 12 Months: Fully proficient and independent in the role

Minimum & Preferred Qualifications

Required

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Relevant experience in a healthcare or clinical setting
  • Ability to learn and retain medical terminology
  • Familiarity with insurance interpretation
  • Knowledge of ICD‑10 and CPT coding preferred
  • Basic proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
