About the Role:

The Therapy Tech plays a vital role in supporting the delivery of therapeutic services by assisting licensed therapists and healthcare professionals in various clinical and administrative tasks. This position focuses on enhancing patient care by preparing therapy equipment, facilitating patient mobility, and ensuring a safe and supportive environment for therapy sessions. The Therapy Tech acts as a liaison between patients and therapists, helping to communicate patient needs and progress effectively. This role requires a compassionate and detail-oriented individual who can manage multiple responsibilities while maintaining a high standard of care. Ultimately, the Therapy Tech contributes significantly to the overall success of the therapy team by enabling efficient and effective treatment processes.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic knowledge of human anatomy and therapeutic practices.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and work under supervision.
  • Strong communication skills to interact effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.
  • Physical ability to assist patients with mobility and perform tasks requiring standing or lifting.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification as a Therapy Technician or related healthcare certification.
  • Previous experience working in a rehabilitation or clinical therapy setting.
  • Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
  • CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Additional coursework or training in physical or occupational therapy assistance.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist therapists in setting up and cleaning therapy equipment before and after sessions.
  • Support patients during therapy exercises by providing physical assistance and encouragement as directed by therapists.
  • Monitor patient safety and report any concerns or changes in patient condition to the therapy team promptly.
  • Maintain accurate records of therapy activities and patient progress under the supervision of licensed therapists.
  • Coordinate with other healthcare staff to ensure seamless patient care and therapy scheduling.

Skills:

The Therapy Tech utilizes strong interpersonal skills daily to build rapport with patients and collaborate effectively with therapists and other healthcare staff. Attention to detail is critical when preparing equipment and documenting therapy sessions to ensure accuracy and patient safety. Physical stamina and coordination are essential for assisting patients with exercises and mobility tasks. Communication skills are employed to clearly convey instructions and report patient status to the therapy team. Additionally, familiarity with healthcare technology, such as electronic health records, enhances efficiency in managing patient information and supporting clinical workflows.
