We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented College Accounting Intern to support the Accounting Department. This internship provides valuable hands-on experience in corporate accounting, financial reporting, and day-to-day accounting operations within the energy / real estate industry.
You will work directly with experienced accountants on core accounting tasks, gaining practical knowledge of financial processes, internal controls, and accounting systems.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processing
Support month-end and year-end close activities
Help prepare and reconcile journal entries and account reconciliations
Maintain and update financial spreadsheets and supporting schedules
Assist with invoice processing, expense reports, and payment runs
Participate in bank reconciliations and general ledger maintenance
Help compile data for financial statements and management reports
Support internal audit preparation and compliance documentation
Perform data entry and analysis in accounting software and Excel
Work on special projects such as process improvement, cost analysis, or budgeting support
QualificationsQualifications
Currently enrolled as a college student (Junior or Senior preferred) pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Completion of core Accounting courses (Financial Accounting, Managerial Accounting, and Intermediate Accounting preferred)
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.)
Familiarity with accounting software (QuickBooks, SAP, or similar) is a plus
High attention to detail with excellent organizational skills
Ability to maintain confidentiality with financial information
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Professional demeanor and eagerness to learn
