OVERVIEW

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a _Coastal Engineering Intern_ to join our _Melbourne, FL_ office.

YOUR ROLE

• Support day-to-day project organization across multiple concurrent coastal engineering projects, helping track action items, maintain files, and keep project materials up to date.
• Provide construction oversight support through site visits and shadowing engineering staff on beach nourishment, dredging, and shoreline restoration projects (observation and learning-focused).
• Perform basic technical and administrative tasks using Microsoft Word, Excel, and other project tools; limited exposure to CAD and internal dashboards as appropriate.
• Learn foundational concepts in coastal engineering practice by working closely with engineers and project managers, contributing draft-level support while gaining exposure to real-world project workflows.
• Assist with project documentation including drafting meeting agendas, recording and organizing meeting minutes, and preparing draft technical memos and correspondence for internal review.

ABOUT YOU

• EXPERIENCE: No professional experience required.
• EDUCATION: Must have completed 60 hours towards a coastal or ocean engineering degree or similar from an ABET accredited program by the start of the internship (Summer 2026)
• SPECIAL SKILLS: Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel, basic technical aptitude, strong written communication skills, organizational skills, and time management skills.
• PROFESSIONAL REGISTRATIONS: None required

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION 

Expected compensation range is between $25 - $31 hourly depending on skills, experience, and geographical location.
