What You’ll Do

  • Coordinate and secure insurance pre-authorizations and referrals for elective, urgent, and emergent procedures.
  • Verify in-network and out-of-network provider status and process authorizations accordingly.
  • Determine estimated patient financial responsibility for imaging and durable medical equipment services.
  • Investigate and resolve authorization and referral issues quickly and accurately.
  • Maintain organized documentation and manage workflow tasks within the NextGen EMR system.
  • Research insurance guidelines and coverage requirements to support timely patient care and reimbursement.

What We’re Looking For

  • At least 1 year of experience in a medical office setting handling insurance authorizations and verifications, including workers’ compensation.
  • Working knowledge of NextGen or a similar EMR system.
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology and insurance terminology.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
