Job Description

MS NOW is looking for a Booking Production Assistant to join our team at the Washington bureau. 

The Booking PA is our primary ambassador and first point of introduction for all guests appearing on MS NOW from the Bureau. The PA is responsible for greeting all guests upon arrival and will work directly with various show anchors and producers to assist in production of live news within the Washington bureau. 

The ideal candidate is well organized, proactive, resourceful, and able to interact with people with ease. Candidates must demonstrate a high level of professionalism and confidentiality. The position will also allow the candidate to work alongside our industry-leading guest bookers and senior booking managers, assisting with guest pre-interviews, research and social media outreach during breaking news. This is an exciting opportunity for someone eager to gain exposure to guest booking and learn how build connections across the industry. 

This position is represented by the Writers Guild of America East. 

Responsibilities

  • Guest greeting 
  • Work with booking producers and booking APs on daily or long-term booking projects 
  • Pre-interview guests for booking producers and booking APs 
  • Utilize Social Media for outreach during breaking news 

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience 
  • At least one year of experience in journalism or newsroom (including internships)
  • Strong attention to detail  
  • MS Office proficient: Excel, Word, PowerPoint 
  • High level of confidentiality  
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of the team 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required 

Desired Qualifications: 

  • Previous journalism experience (professional) 
  • Extremely organized and able to work efficiently in a very fast paced environment 
  • Willing to be on-call during off hours 
  • Ability to prioritize work and handle many projects simultaneously under tight deadlines 
  • Proven problem-solving skills 

Requirements

  • Must be willing to work in Washington, DC 
  • Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States 
  • Must be willing and able to work flexible hours, under tight deadline pressure, including breaking news 
  • This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office during show hours. 

This position is eligible for company sponsored benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and a variety of other discounts and perks.  

Salary range: $30.00/ hr - $32.00/hr
