Job Description

The Division of Rheumatology and Clinical Immunology at the University of Pittsburgh is seeking a Postdoctoral Associate to support an NIH-funded R01 investigating the genetic architecture of immune diseases. The successful Candidate will perform functional validation of novel disease-causing variants identified through genotype-based discovery pipelines, including molecular and cellular assays across transfected/transduced cell lines and primary immune cells (PBMCs, macrophages). Responsibilities include CRISPR-based engineering strategies for serial and combinatorial variant knock-in, protein-protein interaction studies leveraging mass spectrometry to characterize gain-of-function variant effects, and generation of functional datasets to train machine learning models for immune disease endotyping. Candidates should hold a PhD in molecular biology, cell biology, or a related field with demonstrated experience in mammalian cell culture, molecular cloning, and functional cellular assays. Experience with LC-MS, multicolor flow cytometry, transfection/transduction of mammalian cells, and primary human monocyte assays preferred.
