Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Endoscopy Technician.

In this role, the successful candidate Responsible for ensuring all instruments (e.g., exchange carts, par level carts, instrument sets and single peel packs) and emergency supplies meet established quotas, both qualitatively and quantitatively. Delivers instruments to the surgical suites in a timely manner. Decontaminates, disinfects, tests, adjusts, assembles
and transports mobile patient equipment. Decontaminates, inspects, assembles, preps and packs and sterilizes designated surgical instrumentation. Conducts inventories (e.g., orders and stocks medical disposable goods in storage areas and ensures sterile processing of all materials. Answers telephone; responds to requests from internal and external customers and actively participates in a continuous quality improvement process.

Job Responsibilities:

- Demonstrates Universal Precautions in the exposure & handling of hazardous waste
-  Ensures that all scopes are secured and stored in a safe manner.
- Reports, trouble shoots and/or implements corrective actions related to malfunctioning equipment &
endoscopes promptly.
- Rotates stock and monitors expiration dates.
- Maintains utility room and work areas clean, neat and free of safety hazards.
- Ensures that Endoscopes have been reprocessed as per OR policy and procedure prior to patient use.
- Position, lift and hold patients in a safe and therapeutic manner.
- Practices aseptic technique with transport and handling of sterilized items.
- Collaborates with unit manager or charge nurse in determining priorities.
- Accurate and thorough "Picking of Cases" or "Table Setup" that is case specific and/or as indicated by surgical preference card.
- Prepares table setups that are well organized, neatly arranged and fully equipped for intra-op use and post-op decontamination.
- Performs all the requirements of the Universal Protocol and Time Out in accordance with hospital policy
- Performs proper specimen handling according to policy
- Perform other duties as assigned

Additional Position Specific Responsibilities:
This role requires the flexibility to work across a variety of surgical specialties and peri-operative care areas including the ambulatory surgery center and the main operating rooms.

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a High School Diploma or the equivalent. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Must be able to follow oral and written instructions and do basic mathematical calculations.
Knowledge of specific health care products, patient care equipment, instruments, medical terminology and basic use is required. Basic computer skills.
Must have one of the following: (1) Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) by Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA), (2) Certified Endoscope Reprocessor (CER), or (3) Certified Flexible Endoscope Reprocessor (CFER)..

Required Licenses: Cert Endoscope Reprocessor, Certified Central Service Tech

Preferred Qualifications:
Endoscopy Technician Experience Required
