Job Description

Inventory Transfer Coordinator

Position Type: Full-Time

Compensation: $18.00 / Hour

Primary Location: Central Distribution Center (DC)

Travel Requirement: Daily local routes to satellite retail stores (Approx. 2–3 hours on the road per day)

Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable, efficient, and highly motivated Inventory Transfer Coordinator to manage the physical flow of stock between our Central Distribution Center (DC) and our network of satellite retail locations. This hybrid role bridges warehouse operations and regional logistics.

The ideal candidate is a self-driven individual who takes pride in spatial efficiency—knowing how to expertly pack a vehicle to maximize cargo volume safely—and excels at keeping clear, accurate records. You will spend a portion of each day on the road operating a company box truck, and the remainder of your shift actively loading, unloading, and managing product within the warehouse environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inventory Retrieval & Prep: Coordinate closely with satellite stores to review transfer needs. Utilize material handling equipment, including a cherry picker (order picker), to safely pull inventory from elevated central DC racking systems.

  • Route & Delivery Execution: Safely operate a company box truck to complete scheduled daily transfer routes to satellite locations. Expect to spend approximately 2–3 hours on the road per day.

  • Cargo & Spatial Optimization: Strategically pack the box truck to fully utilize total volume/cube space. Ensure all inventory is securely stacked and tied down to prevent shifts or damage during transit.

  • Loading & Unloading: Physically handle product transfers by loading the truck at the central hub and completely unloading the cargo at each destination site, staging inventory in the appropriate store warehouse areas.

  • Inventory Documentation: Maintain an immaculate record of all products moved each day. Verify item counts against transfer sheets to guarantee total network accuracy and prevent discrepancies.

  • Communication & Reporting: Serve as the primary logistical link between locations. Formally notify operations management immediately upon completing an unload at each satellite facility.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Age & Driving Records: Must be at least 21 years of age (for commercial insurance compliance) and possess a valid driver's license with a clean, accident-free driving record.

  • Equipment Proficiency: Confirmed comfort and experience driving medium-duty box trucks. Comfortable working at heights and operating warehouse machinery, specifically a cherry picker.

  • Physical Stamina: Ability to consistently lift, push, pull, and maneuver large, bulky, and heavy products throughout an 8-hour shift.

  • Self-Directed: Proven capability to stay on schedule, manage time effectively, and execute routes efficiently without constant direct supervision.

  • Spatial Awareness: Exceptional skills in spatial organization, structural packing, and volume utilization (maximizing truck capacity).

  • Detail-Oriented: Ability to read transfer manifests accurately and use basic communication tools to update management in real-time.

Working Conditions & Schedule

  • A dynamic mix of indoor warehouse work and regional road driving.

  • Frequent exposure to variable weather conditions during loading and unloading segments.

  • Standard operational shifts with consistent weekly hours.
