Construction Accountant

Grace Roofing & Sheet Metal Enterprise has an immediate opening for a Construction Accountant to join our growing team. We are a local reputable family owned and operated roofing company serving South Florida.

Responsibilities

• Interacts with the project manager and unit managers for managing objectives, goals and performance as well as working with the estimating department
• Support activities concerned with the reporting and control of the close process, forecasting and planning
• Responsible for reconciling bank accounts and credit cards.
• Prepare weekly Subcontractor and vendor payments.
• Prepare monthly sales commission report.
• Assist with preparation and distribution of monthly financials.
• Monthly tracking and adjusting of Cost of Goods Sold.
• Maintain WIP report 
• Perform Job Cost Analysis.
• Assist with Pricing of Services.
• Responsible for Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Credit and collections.
• Support purchase order requisitions and material ordering.
• Manage inventory, fixed assets, and general ledger accounting.
• Prepare year-end 1099.
• Ad-hoc projects as required.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
• 1-2 years of related work experience.
• Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written).
• Ability to work independently and under strict deadlines.
• Ability to develop strong analytical skills.
• Strong customer focus.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to work daily during specified business hours in order to meet deadlines.
• QuickBooks experience required.
• Construction background desired but not required.
