Title: Entry Level Project Engineer – Cost Out Analyst

Location: GE Transportation (A Wabtec Company); Grove City, PA

Job Description:

The position is responsible for identifying and executing cost reduction opportunities for new engine manufacturing through various project disciplines.  This role will review cost activities for several manufacturing locations to help generate projects ideas and solutions for implementation.  The candidate should have a solid engineering background and proven experience leading various technical projects.  Additional experience mechanical systems and cost analysis a definite plus.

Essential Responsibilities:

-   Assist in tracking current and upcoming projects as to facilitate implementation and to enhance estimating of cost impact.

-   Ownership of stated technical/cost/reliability/performance requirements of the project.

-  Interactions will include engineering sub-system teams, drafting and global engineering sites.

-   Manage the long-term planning to meet the short-term project milestones.

-   Draft, review and approve specifications and drawing modifications.

-   Participate as presenter in tollgate reviews.

-   Assist with the design and development of mechanical components and processes.

-   Drive cross-functional teams to execute on critical project milestones, including but not limited to, design reviews, material orders, prototype builds, field and bench testing. Etc.

Desired Skills:

-   Experience with managing multiple projects simultaneously.

-   Strong interpersonal and leadership abilities.

-   Experience with GD&T, general mfg processes, tooling and Lean Six Sigma.

-   Must be detailed oriented and able to take on new tasks without heavy oversight.

-   Able to create basic tools (spreadsheets, reports) using standard software such as Access, Excel, SQL.

Qualifications/Requirements:

Bachelor of Science in Engineering.
