Job SummaryWe are an independent optometry practice seeking a patient-focused Optician to join our team. In this role, you will help patients select eyewear that fits their vision needs, lifestyle, and personal style while providing exceptional customer service throughout the entire experience.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, personable, and has strong communication skills with knowledge of the day-to-day operations of an optometry office. We value a positive attitude and a commitment to patient care, and we are willing to train the right candidate with prior customer service or sales experience.
Responsibilities 
  • Dispense Eyewear: Meet and talk with patients to learn their needs for eyewear
  • Make suggestions on frames, and assist patients in choosing the best option for them
  • Take facial measurements to ensure a perfect frame fit
  • Lens and Lab Coordination: Prepare specific orders with optical labs, track orders ensuring accuracy and on-time delivery. 
  • Patients Education: Educate patients on lens options, coatings and proper ensure satisfaction with their eyewear.  
  • Use EHR software: Input patients data, pull insurance and authorizations. 
Qualifications
  • 1+ year of previous experience in an optical or optometry setting preferred but willing to train the right person if strong previous customer service/ sales experience.
  • Detail oriented with excelled organization skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
