Job Description

OVERVIEW

Are you looking for a job that's both challenging and fun? Join our dynamic team as a Sampling Agent in the exciting and ever-evolving New Jersey medical and adult-use cannabis industry. This full-time, day shift position involves traveling to various grower and processor sites to collect medical and recreational cannabis samples. The role requires adherence to strict aseptic techniques and meticulous documentation to ensure the secure transfer of samples to our laboratory.

Responsibilities

  • Travel daily to licensed grower and processor facilities throughout New Jersey (company vehicle provided or personal vehicle mileage reimbursed at the current IRS rate).
  • Perform random and representative compliance sampling of cannabis and cannabis products in accordance with New Jersey regulations.
  • Apply strict aseptic techniques during sample collection to prevent contamination and preserve sample integrity.
  • Accurately complete chain-of-custody forms, manifests, and electronic documentation using Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
  • Ensure secure, compliant transportation and timely transfer of samples to the laboratory.
  • Assist with laboratory intake, accessioning, inventory tracking, and related documentation.
  • Adapt to a varying daily schedule based on client needs and route demands.
  • Maintain strong attention to detail, critical thinking, and professionalism in a fast-paced, compliance-driven environment.
  • Communicate clearly with clients and notify Laboratory Management of any unexpected requests or field scenarios.
  • Maintain clean, organized field kits and transport vehicles.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Be at least 21 years old.
  • Maintain a valid driver's license.
  • Have a high school diploma, or equivalent.
  • Have two years of customer service experience (preferred)
  • Able to meet the eligibility requirements for employment within a cannabis business set by the state of New Jersey.
  • Have consistent and reliable transportation.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT where essential functions of the job take place, may include:

  1. Frequent contacts and interruptions during the day.
  2. Video and/or audio surveillance for security purposes where laboratory activities are performed.
  3. Use of personal protection equipment to limit exposure to chemicals or other hazards found within a laboratory environment.
  4. Potential exposure to loud noises, fumes, or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration.
  5. Extended time within a motor vehicle, either independently, or with another individual, as authorized by each state-specific requirements for cannabis laboratory sampling and secured transportation.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS employees may encounter to successfully perform essential duties may include:

  1. Frequently standing, sitting, walking, reaching with arms and hands, use of hands, talking and hearing.
  2. Occasionally stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling and lifting or moving up to 40lbs.
  3. Visual capabilities include close vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus.
  4. Ability to concentrate and consistently produce accurate work.
  5. Ability and willingness to experience non-ambient environmental conditions during field-sampling.
  6. Ability to consistently and safely operate a motor vehicle, including but not limited to being willing to self-certify they are free of a physical, auditory, or other limitation that may impact their ability to reasonably meet this requirement.
  7. Frequent travel and extended time in a motor vehicle.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: Starting at $20.00 per hour (commensurate with experience)
