Work Shift

Position Summary: The Food Service Worker I is responsible for the preparation, service, storage, and sanitation of food and supplies.

Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions

Prepares food items for cooking or serving and serving areas. Serves food from serving line or prepares and/or transports food for catering or patient feeding trays. Responsible for decisions concerning food quality and customer satisfaction.

Follows proper sanitation procedures and techniques when handling food. Follows cleaning manual to sanitize any equipment used and rotate cleaning food storage areas.

Communicates with managers, food service workers, and all customers of Terrace Dining. May assist in training new employees concerning hot and cold food procedures and/or sanitation of the responsible area. May deliver and service catered functions.

Position Requirements: Requires enough basic education to understand and follow standard practice or oral and written instructions; Ability to read and write; Use simple arithmetic; Keep simple record; Use simple office machines including computers.

Preferred Requirements: High School Diploma or GED. 1 year or more of experience in food services.
