Job Description

JOB FUNCTIONS:

Maintains stockyard and raw material racks. Ensures CNC operators have the necessary raw material (primarily sheet goods) for daily production.

Shift:

Monday thru Friday 3:15pm-11:45pm

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Maintains and organizes stockyard and raw material racks.
  • Reviews programs to determine what raw materials are needed for the routers and saws.
  • Uses forklift to obtain raw materials from the stockyard and deliver to the CNC machines.
  • Inspects oil, water, brakes, lights, and tires on the forklift to ensure the equipment is functioning properly.
  • Determines the most efficient use of raw materials to minimize waste.
  • Assists CNC operators with machine loading/unloading and scrap disposal.
  • Monitor scrap bins and remove them when necessary.
  • Notifies group leader, supervisor, or any other management associate of any safety issues.
  • Informs appropriate department, group leader or management associate of any product shortages, defects, delays, or any other problem affecting shipments to customers.
  • Helps respond to ASAP orders by delivering parts for routers immediately or as soon as current cuts are complete.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintains a clean and orderly work area.
  • Other duties as assigned by management. Even though Material Handler may be your main responsibility, Teak Isle will require cross training in other positions, including Sanding, Polishing, Packing, Assembly, Finisher Router, CNC Operator, etc. Duties and responsibilities may change at any time with or without notice depending on the needs of the business.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • The employee is regularly required to bend at the waist and knees and stand for extended periods of time.
  • The employee must frequently be able to lift 50 pounds, work 10 hours days with most of the time being on your feet, and work overtime, whether planned or unplanned.
  • Must be able to work in a non-climate-controlled environment where ambient air temperature can exceed outside air temperatures reaching over 100 degrees Fahrenheit at times.
  • Must be able to work under time constraints and deadlines.
  • Must be able to work in a dusty environment.
  • Must be able to read measurements in inches.
