Registered Cardiac Sonographer [RCS] - Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) required Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer [RDCS] - American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) required Basic Life Support [BLS] - Generic - HR Only required
Experience
Sonographer experience 0-1 year required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Solid knowledge of cardiac anatomy and physiology in the specific population being cared for.
- Understanding of cardiovascular diseases and conditions and related symptoms.
- Ability to assess relevant medical history, patient-reported concerns, and any contraindications or limitations to echo testing.
- Good understanding of equipment function and ultrasound physics.
- Demonstrated commitment to patient and staff safety and patient experience through adherence to safety protocols and best practices.
- Ability to mobilize heavy ultrasound machines as well as occasionally lift patients from stretchers or wheelchairs, assist incontinent patients, and lift boxes of supplies.
- Ability to spend prolonged time standing while working.
- Ability to work as a team and collaborate with all role groups.
- Excellent interpersonal and critical thinking skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, their families, and colleagues, including physicians, nurses, administrative staff, and peers.
