Lead Teacher – Infant, Toddler, or Preschool Classrooms
Location: The Learning Experience – Gurnee, IL
Pay: $18–$19.25 per hour (commensurate with childcare experience and credentials)
Schedule: Full-Time, Monday–Friday
Shift Options: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM or 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM

At The Learning Experience, we go beyond daycare by creating engaging classrooms where children learn through hands-on experiences, structured routines, and meaningful relationships.

Our onboarding and training program helps teachers confidently implement lesson plans and classroom routines across all age groups while growing professionally within a collaborative school environment.

Key Responsibilities

  •  Create a safe, nurturing, and engaging classroom environment 
  •  Implement the L.E.A.P. Curriculum using interactive learning experiences and classroom activities 
  •  Support children’s social, emotional, and cognitive development 
  •  Build positive relationships with families and teaching team members 
  •  Communicate regularly with parents regarding classroom activities and developmental progress 
  •  Maintain classroom organization and compliance with licensing and safety standards 
  •  Guide children through daily routines including meals, rest time, and learning centers 
  •  Help create a positive school culture where learning and play happen seamlessly 
Qualifications

  •  Genuine passion for early childhood education and childcare 
  •  Minimum 6 months of professional teaching experience required 
  •  1 year of professional teaching experience preferred 
  •  Associate’s degree or higher in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred 
  •  High school diploma or GED required 
  •  Must meet Illinois childcare licensing requirements

The Learning Experience - Gurnee is located just north of Tacos el Norte and east of the employee entrance to Six Flags. Our state-of-the-art daycare and preschool center opened in July of 2018. We make early education and daycare joyful, engaging, and fun for infants, toddlers, and preschool-aged children! Since 2002, The Learning Experience has been positively impacting the lives of children ages six weeks to six years by developing and implementing ground-breaking childcare and early education programs. Our proprietary curriculum encourages children to learn in their favorite way: by exploring and doing.
