Assistant Teacher – Closing Shift Job Title: Assistant Teacher (Closing Shift)

Location: The Learning Experience – Jenison, MI
Pay: $16–$18 per hour
Schedule: Full-Time, Monday–Friday (9:00 AM – 6:30 PM)

Assistant Teacher – Afternoon & Closing Support

The Learning Experience – Jenison is seeking a dependable Assistant Teacher to support classrooms throughout the day while helping maintain a smooth and organized closing routine each evening. This role supports children across infant, toddler, and preschool classrooms while ensuring a safe and positive end-of-day experience for families and staff.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with multiple age groups and supporting classroom transitions later in the day.

Key Responsibilities

  •  Assist with daily classroom routines and learning activities 
  •  Support afternoon transitions, playground time, and dismissal routines 
  •  Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment 
  •  Provide classroom coverage as needed across age groups 
  •  Support Lead Teachers with classroom preparation and activities 
  •  Communicate professionally with families during pickup times 
  •  Follow Michigan childcare licensing requirements and center policies 
Qualifications

  •  High school diploma or GED required 
  •  Prior childcare experience preferred 
  •  Comfortable supporting multiple age groups 
  •  Reliable, flexible, and team-oriented 
  •  Must meet Michigan childcare licensing requirements
