Reports to: Warehouse Manager

FLSA Status: Non-exempt

Material Handler Job Summary:

This position is responsible for accurately handling inbound, storage, and outbound product for a wide range of clients. The person occupying this position is responsible for checking loads in and out along with verifying products on bills of lading and shipping documents.

Material Handler Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Move, load, and unload food products, materials, and/or packages by hand, pallet jack, or forklift from trains,railcars, and trailers 
  • Handle paperwork andusescanners to ship and receive clients’ food product accurately
  • Pick orders, select products, and control inventory as necessary
  • Transfer data manually and electronically to co-workers andInventoryControlTeam
  • Monitor warehouse inventory through cycle counts
  • Assistinmaintaininga clean and organized warehouse through various assigned sanitation duties
  • Follow Safety and Food Safety Polices & Procedures.

Material Handler Skills/Abilities:

  • Attention to detail and strong mathematical abilities

Material Handler Education and Experience:

  • Required:One year of warehouse experience
  • Required: Forklift experience

Material Handler Physical and/or Travel Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting on a forklift in cold and extremecold conditions
  • Must be able to lift 50-75 pounds at a time
