Position Summary:

The Dishwasher is an entry-level position that provides important support to restaurant staff while offering fundamental training and experience to the employee. The dishwasher maintains high standards for cleanliness by washing tableware, kitchen items and performing other cleaning tasks as assigned.  Dishwashers store all dishes properly to maintain an organized, functional workspace.
 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Promotes superior guest service.

  • Maintains, and perpetuates a positive organizational culture according to the principles of the Spirit of Tâlícn and the Core Values of ilani.

  • Consistently demonstrates collaborative, relationship building, welcoming and mutually respectful behaviors.

  • Clean all dishes, glasses, utensils, pots and pans, serving items and equipment as per the approved sanitation and food safe guidelines.

  • Operate the dishwasher and check all items for cleanliness.

  • Store all clean dishes in the appropriate areas.

  • Maintain all dishwashing and other cleaning equipment.

  • Maintain a clean and safe environment around the dishwashing area.

  • Load or unload food and supplies.

  • Clean the garbage area; and sort and remove trash.

  • Assist with food preparation when required.

  • Prepare trays and banquet accessories.

  • Sweep and mop floors.

  • Maintains confidentiality of sensitive information.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must possess excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to foster a supportive and enabling team environment.

  • Must stand for long periods of time and multi-task in a fast- paced environment while performing physical activities that require moderate strength including standing, climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, and handling of materials. 

  • Must have the ability to lift pots, pans, etc. weighing up to 50 pounds.

  • Must possess finger dexterity to use small tools adeptly.

  • Must follow instructions carefully and be able to communicate professionally.

  • Must possess a valid food service card.

  • Must be willing to work in a smoking environment.

  • Must be willing to adhere to company health and safety measures.

The rivers along the Cascades and Columbia have served as access points for transportation and have supplied abundant resources for our Tribe. We traded extensively and built many relationships along this corridor, which was previously known as the Cowlitz Trail. The Cowlitz Tribe is a growing force in the community we offer a variety of health services, human services, cultural resources, natural resources, housing, transportation and much more. We currently have facilities in Clark, Cowlitz, Lewis, and King Counties in an effort to maximize access for not only our tribal members, but for the surrounding community and other natives & their families.
